An exploratory ride of Sardinia, riding there
and back with a focus on back to basics adventure

One for the adventurers out there, and specifically - just on this occasion as it's a recce ride - people who have been with Dorothy before on a trail adventure, or done Sweetlamb.
This time we're loading up the bikes and heading for Sardinia, home of some incredible trails and scenery.
We start by jumping on a ferry to France on Sunday 28th June (probably out of Poole - TBC). Once in France we take a three day non-motorway ride down through France, aiming for the port town of Toulon, where we'll catch an overnight ferry to Sardinia, cabin included. We then have four full days to play around on the island, riding some trails, enjoying the mountains, a swim in the sea... that sort of thing.
After four days we catch the short ferry to Corsica, ride across that island before catching another ferry back to the Italian mainland. This is where we mix it up a bit, taking a mountainous ride back through Italian Alps, timing it perfectly with the prime season for riding the Stella Alpina tracks, with a day there to ride Col du Sommelier, before making our way back to port for our crossing back to the UK.
12 days of incredible riding in total; approximately 1800 miles and perfectly suited to the smaller capacity adventure machines we know and love; CRFs, Himalayans etc. If you know what you're doing then you're welcome to come on something bigger.
We're camping on this one - back to basics - with option along the way to upgrade at your own cost to hotels, should the mood take it.
This is an exploratory ride. Nothing will be set in stone. Riders need to be onboard with that and be flexible accordingly.
This is back to grass routes travelling.
Price includes all ferry crossings, all camp sites and assistance along the way. Riders need to be able to self navigate and be confident on the trails. The trails will be typical wide gravel/dirt track, but some experience off road is required. Same goes for travel insurance, evidence of which we'll need before departure.
