24th - 27th August 2023
HOW MUCH?
£275 per rider. £60 for pillion.
THE PLAN
Meeting at Dom's Bike Stop on the afternoon/evening of Thursday 24th August, we'll eat dinner, have a drink, camp that evening and wake up ready for the first full day of adventure.
Riding south west we'll cross the border into Wales and head for the beautiful Brecon Beacons, riding some of the most iconic roads in the region. From there the road will lead us north along the famous Black Mountain Pass, meandering towards the Elan Valley for more stunning riding and mesmerising scenery. With the coast in sight, we'll break camp for the evening at the Sweetlamb Adventure Academy, with dinner provided as well as breakfast the next morning. Please be aware that access to Sweetlamb is via a compact gravel driveway of approximately one mile in length.
Saturday we'll head for Snowdonia National Park, riding some of the best roads in the area before one last night on the road and then back to Dom's Bike Shop for lunch before saying farewell.
Total mileage of around 350 miles, all on Tarmac but consisting of a lot of single track, tight and twisty. The route will be learner legal and novice friendly but challenging riding in its own right. You'll be welcome to ride as part of the main group or use the provided route map to self-navigate and meet up for lunch, camping etc.

LEAD GUIDE ON WELSH SAFARI:
DUNCAN GOUGH
The man in charge of this mission is none other than resident Welshman Duncan Gough, rider of a Moto Guzzi V85TT and author of numerous books detailing his travels around Spain.
No one knows the back roads of Wales better than Duncan. He also tells a mean campfire story.
More about him here:

WHAT DOES IT INCLUDE?
Three days of guided riding, or self guide if you prefer. Three nights camping, with evening meal and breakfast included on the second night and morning.
WHAT’S NOT INCLUDED?
The price doesn't include your fuel, food when on the road and spending money.
WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?
You'll need a well serviced and road worthy bike. Any bike will do, but bear in mind the pace of the main group will be in line with legal speed limits.
You'll also need basic camping gear - tent, sleeping bag, pillow and mat - and some waterproofs, just in case. It is Wales after all. For peace of mind, it's advised that you have full breakdown cover for your bike just in case you do have problems that are beyond simple roadside repair.
