A chance to ride the best roads of Europe,
starting in Romania with the
spectacular Transfagarasan Highway...
WHERE: Romania
WHEN: Mid September
FULL HOTEL OPTION: £2295
Following on from the hugely successful 'Bulgaria or Bust' of 2019 (sadly Brexit and Covid put pay to the follow up for a few years, this is a one way trip taking in some of the best roads in Europe; Stelvio, Furka, Transfagarasan...
We start by land freighting the bikes out to Bucharest, the capital of Romania, using the same freighting company - Moving Motorcycles - as was used on the 2025 Balkans and Morocco trip.
Their depot is in Northampton, with bikes to be dropped off approximately one week before, with bikes travelling overland in metal stillages, with all paperwork completed upon their arrival in Romania.
A week later the adventure begins, flying into Bucharest (flights not included - around £50), collecting our bikes from the depot and beginning a two week meandering journey back through Europe, taking in epic highlights such as the Bosnia, the Croatian Coast, Lake Bled, the Dolomites, Stelvio Pass, Furka Pass, Grimsel Pass, plus an endless amount of other great riding to make this a trip to remember.
There'll be no motorways, with daily distances not more than 200 miles. This is a tour for people who want to relax and enjoy their way through Europe, not race across it in a hurry. It's a trip suitable to smaller bikes; anything above 250cc.
Accommodation will be hotels on a twin share basis with a single room supplement available.
The route will be provided in GPX format along with a route book, giving riders the freedom and flexibility to make their own pace.
Riders must pay attention to their insurance provider and their stipulations on the provision of green cards in the Balkans. Some include this as standard, some don't. Hastings are one to recommend. There are third party insurance providers in the worst instance who can offer blanket cover across the Balkans.
Riders must provide evidence of travel insurance and accept that we may encounter some rough roads, definitely plenty of twisties and a variety of weather and road conditions to keep us on our toes.
This one promises to be a road trip of memorable proportions. Great riding, great scenery, epic motorcycling, with home as your destination. Ferry back to the mainland included.
