The Sea 2
Skye ...

(and beyond)

8th - 15th October 2023

INCLUDES
TWO NIGHTS
ON SKYE

Celebrate the end of the
season with a highland
bound adventure...

WHAT IS IT?

Starting out just south of Bristol on the beach of Weston Super Mare, we'll begin our journey north, averaging approximately 200 miles per day, taking in some of the most scenic riding roads in-between, before finally reaching Skye, with option to say goodbye here or carry onto John o'Groats and back down through the Cairngorns.

WHEN DOES IT START?

The run will commence with a noon meet up on Weston Super Mare beach front, before heading to the first night's stop over the border in Wales.

WHEN DOES IT END?

The group will arrive on Skye on Wednesday 11th October, spending two nights with chance that spare day to either ride around Skye or take in the Applecross Peninsula. The option is to then either say goodbye or enjoy two more days of stunning riding, heading up to John o'Groats and back down through the magnificent Cairngorms. We'll go separate ways at lunch time just outside Edinburgh on Sunday 15th October.

WHO IS IT FOR?

The ride is for people who want an adventure in a manageable time frame and with hotel accommodation adding a touch of luxury over a typical Garbage Run (tent). The main group pace will be a road legal pace and the daily distances are designed to be manageable taking in plenty of stops. The route will be scenic and avoid motorways and major roads at all opportunities.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

The full route map will be provided. This is an assisted ride rather than a guided ride, with Speed Shop riders on hand to assist, but all riders should have capacity to self navigate. We'll all aim for the same pre-booked hotel on an evening and start out again the next morning. Accommodation is based on a twin/double shared basis.

HOW LONG ARE THE DAYS?

Daily mileage is between 180 and 200 miles. Total mileage for the route will be around 1000 miles, with you obviously having to factor in the mileage to the start and from the finish.

WHAT WILL I NEED TO BRING?

You'll need a well serviced and reliable machine, with minimum cubic capacity of 250cc if you wish to ride with the main group. The pace won't be fast but you will be expected at times to sustain national speed limits, or, for those wishing to ride slower or on slower machines, self navigate.

HOW MUCH IS IT?
£695 per person (twin share basis)

£300 for pillion.
£895 single occupancy

Add £250 if you're wanting to ride the two extra days including two extra nights' accommodation.

WHAT'S INCLUDED?
All route maps and hotel accommodation including breakfast. Speed Shop support and assistance throughout/
