Say goodbye to summer with this meandering tour of
Starting at the award winning Josie's in the Dartmoor town of Bovey Tracey, we're heading towards the Lake District on a five day adventure, taking in some of the best riding and cafes along the way. the Owl's Nest, Baffle Haus, Ponderosa, Old Store's, then into the Peak District for tea at Sid's from the Last of the Summer Wine, and then north through to the Lake District and finally journey's end in Cumbria, at what we hope will be the rebuilt Hartside cafe.
This is gentle tour, with manageable days and hopefully the tail end of summer weather trailing us north.
This one will be guided by David and Julian, resident experts of the biker cafe, with camping on route and a nice wholesome price tag to allow plenty of money left for the sweets and savouries along the way.
WHEN
Riders will need to be down in Dartmoor for the first night of camping on Sunday 31st August, ready for leaving 9am Monday morning. The ride will finish in Cumbria on the evening of Friday 5th September.
WHAT'S INCLUDED
Price of £295 includes all campsites, route map and guidance along the way. Riders are encouraged to self navigate to avoid any stampedes at the cake ordering counter.
WHAT'S NOT INCLUDED
Price does not include fuel and food.
TYPE OF RIDING
The route will all be on Tarmac but take in some single track stretches as well as some twisty roads and switchbacks. Riders need to be comfortable on their machines, especially when carrying luggage.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
You'll need a full motorcycle licence and a road legal machine that is prepped and ready for around an 1000 mile total trip, including the journey at either end.
WHO’S IT FOR?
This tour is for who just wants a nice relaxing tour, with manageable miles of no more than 150 miles. Riders need to be keen for some adventure and off the beaten track riding.
COST
The tour costs £295 per person and £100 for a pillion.
