ADVENTURE TRAINING WEEKEND
WHAT IS IT?
A training weekend for all at the Sweetlamb Adventure Academy in mid Wales, designed to help you build confidence and off road skills on your own trail or adventure bike.
WHEN IS IT?
Arrive afternoon of Friday May 8th, depart morning of Sunday 10th.
WHERE IS IT?
Sweetlamb Adventure Academy - home of the Ducati Adventure School - 20 minutes from Rhayader in mid Wales.
HOW MUCHIS IT?
£275
WHAT DOES THAT INCLUDE?
Two nights bunkhouse accommodation, one day's off road training, plus tutorials on tyre changing and other essential adventure skills. Also includes two breakfasts, two dinners and two lunches.
WHAT WILL I NEED?
A suitable trail or adventure bike - any size/engine that you may consider taking on a trail based adventure such as an Adventure Country Tracks route. Tyres need to be trail tyres as a minimum; a tyre that comes stock on a CRF300 or Himalayan 450 etc. Please message with any queries about tyres.
You need to bring your own protective clothing, including helmet, eye protection, gloves, trousers with knee protection, jacket with elbow and shoulder protection. Full length motorcycle boots - preferably adventure or trail boots - with no ankle boots or walking boots permitted.
WHAT WILL I LEARN?
You'll learn the fundamentals of 'off road' motorcycling; namely standing, turning, braking and clutch control, all in the comfort of a 6500 acre playground of trails and training areas. The bunkhouse is onsite, so that once you've arrived on the Friday you won't touch Tarmac until the Sunday when you leave; much more confident than when you arrive. The training is headed up by Mark Molineaux, head of the Ducati Training School which also operates on the Sweetlamb site, with his team able to work with all abilities and group you up accordingly. The training is not intended to break you, just to test you and stretch your abilities in a controlled and incredible riding environment.
WHERE WILL WE SLEEP?
Accommodation is in the onsite bunkhouse, with a ladies dorm available. Please bring a sleeping bag and pillow. Please feel free to bring a campervan, with camping facilities available as well.
WHAT'S TO EAT?
Food will provided from Friday evening through to Sunday breakfast. Nothing fancy; hot and hearty. Please feel free to bring snacks or anything to suit dietary needs.
