WHAT IS IT?

The Sweetlamb Adventure Training Weekend is two days of off road training at the incredible Sweetlamb Adventure Academy in mid Wales, home to the official KTM training centre. Set across an incredible 6500 acres of Welsh hillside, it's the perfect for riders of all abilities to learn new skills and build confidence.

The venue is self contained, with camping or bunkhouse available onsite with female only dorm option, plus onsite caterers providing excellent quality evening meals, breakfasts and lunches that are included throughout the weekend.

WHEN DOES IT START?

Arrive the afternoon of Friday 18th August, ride Saturday and Sunday.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

You arrive with your own bike having chosen whether to camp or stay in the onsite bunkhouse. You won't leave the facility for the next three days, with the training area right beside the main facilities. All riders will be assessed on their ability and put into relevant groups. From that a system of skills will be taught, starting with the basics and building on those as the days progresses. No free riding onsite is allowed (ie going off on your own), you will always be under instruction and guidance from the team of instructors. Meals are all provided onsite with vegan and vegetarian options available as well as any other dietary request.

WHAT BIKE?

This event is open to any adventure or trail machine, but not enduro or non road legal bikes. Bike are advised to have suitable off road tyres such as Continental TKC80, Michelin Anakee Wilds or Heidenau K60s. Stock light trail tyres such as those that come fitted to Himalzyan, CRF,, GS, are permitted but they will limit your ability to progress. Consider suitable crash protection although the nature of the event and the way the instruction is delivered means that most riders stay upright for the duration of the weekend

WHAT TO WEAR?

Riders will need adequate riding protection to take part, with protection to knees, elbows and shoulders required as a minimum. Open face helmets are not permitted and eye protection is strongly advised. Helmets must be worn at all times when riding a bike onsite. Sturdy trail/off road full height boots are also required in order to best protect against lower leg and ankle injury. Soft road boots aren't advised. Boots such as Forma and Sidi Adventure are good examples of suitable boots but if you have any questions or queries please just get in touch.
